Who handles your information?

DocAbroad is a trading name of Takotsubo B.V., Chamber of Commerce 34314203, based in Amstelveen, the Netherlands. Takotsubo B.V. is the controller of personal data collected through DocAbroad. For questions and privacy requests, email contact@docabroad.nl.

Information we use and why

Our forms collect your name, email address, optional telephone number, message and any attachments you choose to provide, such as a CV. When arranging an assignment, we may also use your specialty, experience, professional registration, preferences, availability and relevant correspondence. We use this information to answer enquiries, explore international assignments, introduce specialists and hospitals, and coordinate preparations.

Handling a specific request and preparing or providing our services is based on steps taken at your request before entering into a contract or performance of a contract. Necessary business correspondence and security rely on our legitimate interests in operating a safe and effective service. Optional newsletters and vacancy emails require separate consent; submitting a contact form does not subscribe you to marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Required and optional information

Your name, email address and message are needed to respond to your enquiry. Telephone numbers and attachments are optional. Please do not send patient information, your own medical information, citizen service numbers or copies of identity documents through the general contact form. If further documentation is needed for a specific assignment, we will agree which documents are necessary and how to provide them securely.

Sharing and service providers

We discuss with you when your profile will be introduced to a hospital. We share only what is necessary for the assignment and its preparation. Hospitals, registration authorities and other parties may be independent controllers for their own processing. An overseas hospital may be located outside the European Economic Area; we discuss the destination and necessary sharing with you beforehand.

We use Netlify for website hosting and forms, and Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection. Email and storage providers may support correspondence and file management. Google Fonts may receive technical data such as your IP address when loading fonts. Netlify and Google may process information outside the EEA. Appropriate processing arrangements and transfer safeguards are required where applicable. See Netlify privacy and Google privacy.

Links to Radiflex.nu, Radioloog.nu and Medischspecialist.nu do not automatically share your enquiry with those platforms. Their own privacy notices apply to requests made on those websites.

Retention and security

We retain enquiry and profile information for as long as needed to handle your request or an active assignment process. Our starting point is deletion or anonymisation no later than two years after the last relevant contact, unless you request earlier deletion or an ongoing assignment, legal obligation or dispute requires longer retention. Financial records are retained for the applicable statutory periods. Access is restricted to people and providers who need the information for their work.

Your rights

Contact contact@docabroad.nl to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it for the future. We normally respond within one month and request no more identification than necessary. You can complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or your competent supervisory authority.

DocAbroad does not make fully automated placement decisions. Matching, introductions and selection are discussed personally, and the hospital makes the final selection. The current notice is available on this page.
