We support medical specialists considering temporary assignments abroad, whether self-employed or employed. We discuss your qualifications, preferences and available dates before exploring a match.
Your specialist registration and the destination's requirements must also fit the assignment. We do not guarantee a placement or start date. You and the hospital normally agree directly on the contract and payment.
These are destinations where we arrange placements. Opportunities vary by period and specialty; there are no continuous vacancies in every destination. Contact us to discuss current possibilities.

Some radiology opportunities in Iceland can be discussed from around two weeks. Minimum periods vary by assignment, destination and specialty. We first confirm which dates are possible with the hospital.
This depends on your destination, existing registrations and required documents. Additional registration abroad may take time. We discuss the necessary steps and a feasible start date before you make commitments.
We discuss the clinical role, expertise, work schedule, on-call duties, language and local support before you decide on a specific assignment.
For each assignment, we clarify who arranges and pays for travel, accommodation, local transport and any registration fees. Contract, remuneration and payment arrangements are agreed in advance. Our mediation and registration guidance are always free for doctors; other expenses depend on the assignment.

“Working abroad had been on my list for years, but the language barrier and paperwork for overseas registration held me back. Having worked in Iceland himself, Alexander knew exactly which documents were needed and understood the hospital culture. Interesting cases at a relaxed pace during the day, and weekends with the family among geysers and glaciers.”Laurens – Radiologist (Locum in Iceland)
“After a few intense years in the Netherlands, I wanted a change of scene without losing my clinical rhythm. I left my name for an informal, no-obligation conversation, and two months later my island locum was arranged. The combination of rewarding, direct patient care and having your feet in the sand at five in the afternoon is priceless.”Sanne – Emergency Physician (Caribbean Locum)
“For our hospitals, it is essential that locums from the Netherlands are not only clinically strong but also fit our local culture and more limited resources. Through DocAbroad, we meet doctors who have been honestly and realistically prepared for what working here involves. That saves us a great deal of induction time.”Erik – Head of Medical Affairs (Caribbean Hospital)
