Founded from clinical practice
DocAbroad was founded in early 2020 by Alexander van Straten, a practising radiologist in the Netherlands, and healthcare entrepreneur Siu-Fung Chan. We began arranging temporary overseas assignments for Dutch radiologists and now also explore opportunities across other medical specialties.
First-hand international experience
Alexander has worked in Iceland, Aruba and the Dutch Caribbean. His experience helps us understand the clinical and practical challenges of temporary assignments abroad. Siu-Fung brings entrepreneurial experience and a broad healthcare network.
Clear arrangements, personal guidance
We discuss the required expertise, assignment period, qualifications and working conditions before approaching suitable specialists. We help coordinate any additional registration and documentation required in the destination country. Contracts and payment are usually agreed directly between the hospital and specialist; any hospital mediation fee is discussed in advance.
